Frequently asked questions
Straight answers about what Ojava is, what it does day to day, where your data goes, what it costs, and where it stops and a clinician begins.
The basics
What is Ojava?
Ojava is an all-in-one health app that brings your food, labs, wearables, records, and history into one private place, with Ojava Coach built in. Log meals by photo, watch your trends, and get plain-language answers about what your numbers mean, tied to the record you control. It also helps you prepare for visits with a real clinician. It is built for understanding and preparation, not for diagnosis or treatment.
What can Ojava actually do for me?
It organizes the records you upload, summarizes your lab and wearable context, flags missing source details, explains patterns over time, drafts questions for your next appointment, and assembles a clinician-ready packet. Within the wellness lane it can also be direct about training, recovery, sleep, stress, mood routines, and nutrition habits. It does not diagnose, treat, prescribe, order labs, or make clinical decisions.
Why use Ojava instead of a generic AI chat app?
A generic chat starts from nothing every time. Ojava keeps your uploaded records, your consent boundaries, the source of each value, what is still missing, and your visit-prep history together, so answers stay tied to the record you control and build on each other over time instead of living in a one-off transcript.
Features and daily use
What does a typical day in Ojava look like?
Most people land on Fitness after signing in for a quick read on today (food diary, calories, and quick-log tiles), check Progress for their streak and trend, log anything new (a meal, a workout, how they slept), and open Ojava Coach if something stands out. The deeper screens (Insights, Reports, Recommendations) are there when you want to go further.
Can I really log a meal from a photo?
Yes. Snap a photo of a plate or a nutrition label and Ojava estimates the calories and macros for you to review and edit before saving. It is an estimate for awareness and trends, not exact accounting, so you stay in control of what gets logged. See the Nutrition page for the full picture.
What can I track in Ojava?
Symptoms, mood and stress, cycle, workouts, body measurements, food, meal plans, fasting, water, holistic-wellness sessions, procedures, allergies, immunizations, family history, medications, supplements, GLP-1 support notes, and your own goals. They live together on the Timeline (medications and supplements on your profile) and are visible to Ojava Coach so it can answer from your full picture.
How do goals and streaks work?
Set goals that matter to you and Ojava builds a short action plan ranked by your own signals (sleep debt, recovery, an out-of-range marker), re-sorting as new data lands. A daily show-up streak and warm achievements keep steady progress rewarding. It is encouragement and education, never a prescribed plan or a medical target.
Can Ojava remember things about me?
Yes, through Memories: short notes about your routine, preferences, and history that Ojava Coach reads across conversations so you do not repeat yourself. Notes that read as a sensitive health topic are kept private from the assistant automatically. Memories are personal context, not a clinical record.
What is a visit packet?
A clinician-ready draft Ojava assembles from your record: a one-page brief of what changed and matters, the questions worth asking, and the supporting labs and trends. You prepare and own it; Ojava does not send it, order anything, or get anything signed. See Reports and Visit prep.
Your data and privacy
Where does my data come from and where does it go?
Only from records you choose to upload, under explicit consent. FHIR uploads can queue labs, vitals, medications, conditions, encounters, procedure history, document references, and bounded claims or coverage context for your review before they affect Coach or Reports. Claims and coverage rows are for organization and prep only, not coverage decisions or payment advice. Your data stays private to you, with no ad tracking and no model training by default. You can export everything or request deletion at any time.
How does Ojava protect my data?
Ojava is built around patient-controlled uploads and explicit consent: no health-event ad targeting, no model training on your data by default, and export and deletion are available whenever you want them. Sensitive categories (for example mental health, reproductive, and genetic records) are held back from any export or AI context unless you opt them in per export.
Can I trust Ojava with real medical decisions and my medical data?
Trust it for private record organization, source-linked education, and clinician-prep drafts. Do not use it as the final decision-maker for your care. Ojava does not make medical decisions, and your data stays governed by the consent and privacy rules above.
Scope and limits
Can Ojava give me a diagnosis or tell me what to do?
It gives general educational information and helps you prepare questions for your clinician, and it can be direct about training, recovery, sleep, and nutrition habits within the wellness lane. It does not diagnose disease, prescribe, or set clinical thresholds. Those decisions stay with a licensed professional.
Can Ojava prescribe or order labs?
No. Ojava can draft the questions and context to bring to a clinician visit. It does not prescribe, order labs, or tell you what clinical action to take.
Is Ojava a licensed medical practice?
No. Ojava is a General Wellness product and will not operate a licensed medical practice. It does not provide diagnosis, treatment, prescribing, lab ordering, referrals, therapy, psychiatry, telehealth, clinical review, or insurance billing.
Can Ojava be my primary care doctor?
No. Ojava helps you keep the full picture and prepare better conversations with licensed clinicians. It does not replace a primary care doctor, specialist, urgent care, or an in-person exam.
What if I need in-person care?
Ojava can prepare a record packet from the context you upload, but it does not issue referrals, order imaging or procedures, schedule visits, or decide whether urgent care can wait. If you think you have an emergency, call your local emergency number.
Connecting your devices and records
Which wearables does Ojava support?
You can import Apple Health exports and Oura, Whoop, Fitbit, and Garmin CSVs today, plus many other vendors. Native Apple Health and Android Health Connect foreground sync is code-built for the signed app, including supported workout sessions, but remains read-only and activation-gated until store-build device proof is complete. Broader 150+ device sync through an aggregator is still partner-gated.
Does Ojava connect to my hospital or pharmacy automatically?
No. Ojava works from records you provide and never exposes a hospital or pharmacy Connect action unless that exact source is active. File imports are available now. Native or Google health-data connections appear only when their device or OAuth path is configured and verified; unavailable sources are labeled without a clickable action.
What kinds of records can I bring in?
Lab PDFs, medication lists, visit summaries, wearable exports, and standard health-record files (FHIR and C-CDA). Ojava detects the type, normalizes it, and puts each result into a review queue so nothing enters your record until you accept it.
Pricing and availability
What does Ojava cost?
There is a free tier with unlimited educational AI chat, food logging, a starter record import, and the readings dashboard. Paid tiers (Starter $14.99/mo or $59.99/yr, Pro $18.99/mo or $74.99/yr) add photo and barcode food scan, custom macros, fasting tracking, meal planning, and grocery lists, each with a 7-day free trial. Pricing is shown on the homepage; paid memberships use Stripe checkout, and the free experience is fully usable without a card.
Can I use insurance, HSA, or FSA?
Ojava does not bill insurance. It also does not claim that memberships are HSA- or FSA-eligible. Paid memberships use direct checkout when available.
Where is Ojava available?
The record-organization and education workspace works from the records you provide, subject to ordinary product availability. Ojava does not offer state-by-state clinical services or licensed actions.
