35 guides, kept in step with what the product actually does.

Community

Groups, challenges, and friends to keep you company on the way to your goals, built to protect your privacy by default.

How it works

Community has three parts, reachable from the account menu. Groups are open topics (weight loss, strength, running, nutrition & meal prep, sleep & recovery, longevity) you join to post and reply with other members. Challenges are lightweight, self-reported goals (like a 7-day logging streak or a week of 10,000-step days) with a leaderboard of the people doing it with you. Friends lets you search for other members by display name and send friend requests, if they have chosen to be findable.

Your community identity

Community never shows your account email or your stored legal name. By default you appear under your first name only, and you can change that display name any time from the Friends tab. Being findable by search is opt in: a new profile starts private, and only members who turn on “Let other members find me by name” show up in search results.

Posts, replies, and moderation

A post or reply is text you write, up to 2,000 characters, visible to the other members of that group. You can delete your own post any time. If a post looks like spam, harassment, or medical misinformation, you can report it; a post that collects enough reports is automatically hidden while it is reviewed. Reporting, hiding, and review counts are handled on Ojava’s side, never something another member can see or control directly.

Discussions, ideas, and questions

When you post, you pick one of three types. A discussion is the default: it just shows up in the group’s feed, newest first. An idea is for a suggestion; other members can upvote it, and you can switch a group’s Ideas view to sort by upvotes instead of recency to see what the group wants most. A question lets you, as the person who asked, mark one reply as the best answer; that reply floats to the top of the thread with a “Best answer” label so it is the first thing anyone else sees. Only you can mark or unmark the best answer on your own question, and only on a question, never a discussion or idea. Upvotes are anonymous to other members: you can see whether you upvoted something, but not who else did, only the total count.

Challenges and leaderboards

Joining a challenge starts your own window (for example, seven days from the day you join). You self-report your progress with a simple +1, and the leaderboard shows how you compare to other people doing the same challenge, by display name only. Leaving a challenge resets your progress if you rejoin later.

Friends

Search finds only members who have opted in to be discoverable. Sending a request creates a pending friendship the other person can accept or decline; either person can remove a friend later. Declining a request or removing a friend is final for now: that pair cannot currently send each other a new friend request. Ojava never shares your labs, records, wearable data, or any other health information through a friend connection, friendship here is purely a display-name-level social link.

Boundaries

Community is peer support, not medical advice. Nothing a member posts is reviewed or endorsed by Ojava, and Community never automatically shares your labs, imported records, wearable metrics, or any other health data; only what you deliberately type into a post, reply, or challenge check-in is ever visible to other members.

Important

Community is not for emergencies. If you may be experiencing a medical emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room. If you are having thoughts of suicide or self-harm, or are in a mental-health crisis, call or text 988 (the US Suicide and Crisis Lifeline), or your local crisis line outside the US.

Read the guide, then bring your own record

Every page here describes something you can do with data you already have: a lab PDF sitting in an email, an export from a watch, a photograph of dinner. Nothing joins your record until you have seen it and accepted it.

  • Plain language first

A guide says what a marker or a trend generally means in the words a person actually uses, before it suggests anything at all.

  • The boundary is written down

Ojava organizes, explains, trends, and prepares you for a visit. It never diagnoses, prescribes, doses, orders labs, or supplies a clinician.

  • Every way in has a way out

Wherever a guide describes bringing data in, it also describes taking it back out: export, share with someone you choose, or delete.

Ojava is a General Wellness product. It is not a medical device, it does not give medical advice, and it does not replace care from your own clinician. If something feels urgent, contact a clinician or your local emergency number.
